Join us for the first talk of the DH: Lit@MIT 2019-20 Speaker Series! Sponsored by Digital Humanities & Literature @ MIT, Dr. Eduard Arriaga presents Afrolatinx Digital Interventions: In Search of Autonomy, Data Decolonization and Human Reaffirmation In this talk, Dr. Eduard Arriaga (University of Indianapolis) will present an overview of his research on Afrolatinx digital culture in the Americas, emphasizing how Afrolatinx groups, collectives, and communities develop digital practices that aim to create new digital worlds, intervene both the cultural and digital cultural records, affirm their diverse humanity, and challenge the contemporary algorithmic determinism that affects people’s lives both on and offline.
