Gayle Denman

I entered MIT as a biology major.  However, I was so blown away by my first few literature courses that I decided instead to major in literature.  The decision to switch majors was a wise one.  MIT’s Literature Department allowed me to take classes on a wide variety of authors and works to which I might otherwise have not been exposed.  The Department’s small size permitted me to form close relationships with faculty and to enjoy multiple classes with those professors who truly inspired me.  As a chemistry minor at MIT, I took numerous math and science classes.  However, only a major in literature allowed me to obtain the true liberal arts education that I desired.  I loved my four years as a literature major and hope to use and improve the various skills which I have acquired at law school in the fall.
