Published on: May 13, 2025

In the spirit of acknowledging the dedication and talent within our community, Literature Co-Heads and Profs Sandy Alexandre and Stephanie Ann Frampton wanted to take a moment to highlight some recent recognitions earned by our fellow colleagues and a recent alumna. These achievements reflect not only individual excellence but also the support of others behind them:

Joshua Bennett will be a Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellow at Princeton’s University Center for Human Values (UCHV) and also a member of Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) for 2025-26.
Wiebke Denecke’s Global Humanities Initiative has been awarded MITHIC Faculty-Driven Initiative (FDI) status.
Eric Driscoll is a 2025 Grant recipient of a Marion & Jasper Whiting Foundation Travel Fellowship for Higher Education of Present & Prospective Teachers.
Diana Henderson—under her leadership and with co-editor James R. Siemon (Boston University), the peer-reviewed journal Shakespeare Studies will be based at MIT.
Carl Holt is a 2025 recipient of MIT’s Infinite Mile Award. Carl’s news was already announced, so it serves as a reminder that a reception will take place this Thursday (May 15) from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building, W18.
Skyler Jones (’23) a Chemistry major who added a second major in Literature late in her time at MIT, will be starting a PhD in English at Harvard next year. After completing a fully funded MA at the University of Arizona, she’s continuing the path she began with an independent study on Ulysses and Infinite Jest, jointly supervised by Noel Jackson and David Thorburn. We’re thrilled to see her pursuing graduate work in English.
Bruno Perreau will be a visiting professor at Sciences Po in Spring 2026.
Jessica Ruffin will be a SHASS Faculty Fellow for Spring 2026 at MIT.
Joaquín Terrones is a 2025 Grant recipient of a Marion & Jasper Whiting Foundation Travel Fellowship for Higher Education of Present & Prospective Teachers.
