Graduating Class: '24

Nina (Yihong) Li

Architecture (4) & Literature (21L)

What are your after graduation plans?
Master of Architecture in Princeton School of Architecture

Was there a favorite book or topic that you studied with Literature that you would recommend?
I would recommend film studies because films tell stories without using much text like novels or short stories do, so film studies provides another perspective on presenting a narrative.

What was your favorite book, film, or thesis, paper title, etc. from out of Literature?
Mirror Stage by Jacques Lacan, Ariel by Sylvia Plath, Wong Kar-wai’s In the Mood for Love.

What advice would you give a future Literature Major? What did you wish you knew before your journey?
There is no rush to take all the classes that interest you. Sometimes a certain class you wish to take does not fit your schedule that specific semester, but that is okay. If you really wish to explore that area, you can always find other chances to explore the area that class covers in the future.

What’s your favorite animal? Why and how does it relate to literature or your work?
My favorite animal is phoenix. I am not sure how phoenix relates to literature or my work but the final stanza of Plath’s Lady Lazarus does refer to a pheonix 🙂
