Susan Arndt

Susan Arndt has studied German and English in Berlin and London and was Senior Researcher at Oxford University as well as Lecturer and Visiting Professor Humboldt University and Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main. Since 2010, she has been Professor of English Literature at Bayreuth University. She is the founding director of the doctoral college of Intersectionality Studies and Principal Investigator of the Cluster of Excellence “Africa Multiple” at Bayreuth University. Here, she is co-project-leader of a project on African Sources of Shakespearean plays. She has worked on Shakespeare’s criticism of colonialism and slavery as well as on postcolonial Shakespeare adaptations. Most recently, Susan Arndt has published with C.H. Beck Sexismus. Geschichte einer Unterdrückung (2020), Rassismus. Eine viel zu lange Geschichte. In 2021, she published Rassistisches Erbe.
