This May 6th, Literature’s end-of-year party celebrated the recent publications of our faculty:
The People Can Fly American Promise, Black Prodigies, and the Greatest Miracle of All Time by Joshua Bennett
The Comedy of Computation, Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Obsolescence by Ben Mangrum
The Ballad World of Anna Gordon by Ruth Perry
Cocktails and light refreshments were served in the Schwarzmann School of Computing once more (this year in the bright north conference room) as we listened to a beautiful introduction by Sandy Alexandre, followed by individual readings from the authors in attendance, Ben Mangrum and Ruth Perry. Ruth Perry accompanied her reading with ballads from a collection of Anna Gordon’s ballads, transcribed by Alasdair Roberts, and vocals by Alison McMorland, Jo Miller, and Kirsty Potts. The ballads can be found on this companion website: https://global.oup.com/booksites/content/9780198939092/
